Avid and FCP Workflow Utilities at IBC
New Marquis Media Highway Technology Previewed
If you are looking for technology that creates elegant file based workflows and efficiencies by overcoming compatibility, storage and workflow complexities then arrange a meeting with Marquis at IBC 2011.

Marquis will unveil new features of Parking and Bridging for improved Avid and FCP workflows and showcase Medway with new production workflow integration functionality.

New Features for IBC

Project Parking extends the 'parking' concept to allow Avid users to copy complete projects quickly and easily between systems within the same facility or between sites. By parking the sequence edits, effects, project settings and the original rushes, Project Parking provides a simple vehicle for archiving all media associated with a project. Although archives are saved to and restored from disk, project archives can easily be moved into managed or cloud-based storage or become assets within an Hierarchical Storage Management or Media Asset Management system.

Other new features of Parking include the ability to move sequences from Avid Interplay clients; support for mixed Avid and Final Cut Pro clients on a single Parking system; and a ‘Full Copy’ parking mode option whereby all source master clips can be parked without reduction, allowing easy re-purposing and parking of work-in-progress sequences. Parking has also introduced an automated ‘pre-flight check’ that verifies content prior to parking operations and reports any actual or potential issues, enabling operators to instantly locate any affected media.

Bridging will be demonstrated with tighter integration of Avid Interplay and FCP workflows.

Medway’s extended Metadata integration, including sequence genealogy, will be shown by Dalet {Stand 8.B77}, demonstrating how vital content information is maintained throughout the production process.

New features in Medway also include an automated ‘pre-flight check’; support for Mac based Avid’s; audio panning; extended EDL support to export; and enhanced operational status feedback with the ability to deliver progress information on transfers directly into Avid Interplay.
